Census data show national poverty fell while 47 million Americans lack health coverage, the highest on record. In Iowa, poverty dropped to 10.3 percent with median household income rising to 48075, but critics question the trends citing alternate analyses of ACS data.
In Cedar Rapids, Wendy Hartman reports that city zoning enforcement over a 14 foot Hartman boat shows how complaints trigger action rather than proactive policing. The family moved the boat from the grass to a hard surface after inspectors visited, eight years after placement.
