DeShaw Family Loses Clothes in Apartment Fire
A closet fire Tuesday morning at 1609 Fourteenth Avenue SE damaged a bedroom interior and destroyed much of the DeShaw family clothing. Mr and Mrs Ernest DeShaw and their three daughters lived there. Furniture belonged to landlady Mrs Earl Cox. Firemen cited the closet as the origin but were not sure of the cause.

Cedar Rapids man pleads innocent in embezzlement case
Clarence Halderman, accused five years after a Cedar Rapids auto theft, pled innocent to a bailee embezzlement charge before Judge G. K. Thompson.
