Septembers first week brings a one day 9 a.m. start for the Marion system with the high school, then 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday. Junior highs begin at 8:40, kindergarten groups in Washington Longfellow and Emerson Irving Lincoln shift to Tuesday 9 a.m. morning sessions, with afternoon groups affected.

Two Marion women were injured in a two car crash on Seventh avenue near Sixth street. Della Garretson suffers a fractured left leg and facial laceration, listed as fairly good at St. Luke's hospital. Althier Smith treated for a forehead laceration and released. The Garretson car collided with a vehicle driven by Ronald Rogers of Torpales New Mexico. Rogers sustained a knee laceration but was not hospitalized. Police continue investigation Wednesday morning. Gunpowder accident injures teen at home
