American Airlines Group said it would pull its airfares from Orbitz Worldwide after failing to reach a commercial agreement. US Airways fares will also be withdrawn. Customers with Orbitz tickets can travel but changes must go through American or US Airways reservations. Corporate Orbitz for Business customers are unaffected. Orbitz previously noted American tickets accounted for about 5 percent of Orbitz net revenue in 2010.
U S durable goods orders climbed 22.6 percent in July driven by strong international demand for aircraft. Transportation orders jumped 74.2 percent with Boeing reporting 324 aircraft orders, triple June, while autos rose 10.2 percent after June decline.
