David L. Phelps of Marion died August 25 2011 at Mercy Medical Center Cedar Rapids after a short illness. Services are 1 PM Monday at Teahen Funeral Home Cedar Rapids with burial at Hale Cemetery later. He lived with wife Carol and left five children five stepdaughters and many grandchildren. He served in Vietnam spoke German and enjoyed riding motorcycles camping fishing and shopping at Goodwill and Dollar stores. He and Carol did a 5000 mile honeymoon on a Honda Goldwing.

Wesley A. Turner 23 of Iowa City faces marijuana possession with intent to sell and possession in a correctional facility after officers found marijuana on him on the way to Johnson County Jail. Floyd L. Knight Jr. 27 is accused of second degree theft for towing a woman's car without permission and selling it to a salvage yard after forging her signature. Tyara C. Hamilton 20 is charged with second degree theft for depositing a 4500 counterfeit check into a University of Iowa Community Credit Union account and withdrawing funds over several days. Azunne J. Opara 23 is charged with second degree theft for depositing two 870 fraudulent postal money orders and a 3500 check from a closed Illinois account into a Liberty Bank account, then cashing out before funds ran out.
