Coralville driver under prescription drugs in I-80 crash
Tenille M. Sulzberger of Cedar Rapids was involved in a crash on August 10 at the I 80 380 interchange when her car struck a semi and flipped with her one year old in a car seat. Police say she admitted to taking excess prescribed and nonprescribed medications. A drug recognition expert found CNS depressants and a narcotic analgesic in her system. She faces one count of operating under the influence and one count of child endangerment causing bodily injury.

Polk County to raise minimum wage to 10.75 by 2019
A Polk County task force approved a plan to lift the county minimum wage from 7.25 to 8.25 in April and to 10.75 by January 2019 with annual CPI-linked increases. Youth workers would earn 85 percent of the new rate. The proposal goes to the Board of Supervisors for action.
