Lake Delhi Taxing District Fight Over FEMA Decision
Delaware County supervisors call the Lake Delhi taxing district a vital local link as FEMA questions the district and recreation association status. FEMA says the 9 mile Maquoketa River lake serves recreation only and not essential public services, denying disaster aid. The dam could generate up to 1.5 megawatts, enough for 750 to 1,000 homes, pending appeals.
