High water makes for poor fishing in Eastern Iowa rivers

Heavy rain has left Eastern Iowa rivers high and muddy with debris, cutting fishing quality across the region. Coralville Lake resembles chocolate milk, while Pleasant Creek Lake and Lake Macbride stay fishable but vulnerable to new rainfall. DNR biologists advise anglers to seek trout streams and farm ponds, noting public access remains available for many trout waters.
