Remains Found on Grape Island Near Fort Madison
Volunteers cleaning land along the Mississippi River found human remains that may belong to a 22 year old Burlington man missing since November 2001. Dental records are being used to confirm identity. A skull was found on Grape Island about five miles north of Fort Madison, with more skeletal remains later located in a remote area. Police say the case is not treated as suspicious.

Former Dubuque fraud convict to serve six days in jail
Karen O Rourke 52 formerly of Troy Illinois was sentenced to six days in jail for contempt of probation after moving from California to Illinois without notifying her probation officer. A 1999 conviction for third degree fraudulent practices led to the probation violation. Judge James Beeghly ordered the restraint instead of a prison term.
