Linn-Mar Will Return Tax Funds If Local Option Passes
Linn-Mar school district leaders propose 1 percent local option sales tax for ballot approval. If approved, the district would provide about $1 million annually in property tax relief by using sales tax revenue to pay debt from a $27.5 million bond issued in January. The plan also notes possible use for new or improved buildings and site work. Cedar Rapids officials support the tax while debating duration and timing.
