Bat encounters trigger Rabies Shots in Area Hospitals
About a dozen people in the Cedar Rapids area began rabies shots this week after encounters with bats. Linn County Public Health reports 26 people inoculated since May 30, with bats testing indeterminate except one positive. Hospital officials say entrances and air systems were secure.
