The piece recalls the 1909 Decatur Bloomington 26 inning game and notes Muscatine fans attending Cedar Rapids’ rainout doubleheader, highlighting Raider Walter Walsh as a seven double performer and Cy Slapnicka’s surprised reaction to Cedar Rapids’ sudden team rise.
