West Coast to adopt California emission standards
Oregon and Washington prepare to enforce California’s strict tail pipe rules by 2016, joining six Northeast states in boosting vehicle emissions limits. The move, backed by environmental groups, aims to curb greenhouse gases and boost fuel efficiency across the West Coast market. The auto industry opposes the plan, arguing higher new car costs.
