EPC to pursue legal route over manure spills in Iowa
The Environmental Protection Commission voted to seek the attorney general's help against Sunrise Dairy Farms for two manure spills into Coon Creek near Blairstown last summer. Sunrise blamed plugged pipes but said discharges were cleaned with no fish kills. The EPC also approved rules to bring 3000 open livestock feedlots into compliance and tightened manure management plan thresholds.
