Federal mediators will chair talks today between Universal Engineering and Machinists Local 831 in Cedar Rapids as the seven week strike over a expired contract continues. Burglary Charge After Break-In and Battery Incident

Monona Wire wins state grant for expansion

The council approved replacing the Eighth Avenue Bridge over Indian Creek with grading corrections and street widening for 500 feet west and 400 feet east. Marion to Dismantle Century-Old Twixt Town Bridge
Work to remove the wooden trestle on Twixt Town Road begins Monday in Marion. The 450 foot section near the Longbranch Supper Club will stay closed until early October.
