Father Accused Of Chaining Four Of Eight Children
In Chattanooga Tennessee an unemployed father, Jess Cline fifty three? 43, was charged with inhuman treatment after four of his eight children were found chained at home. A Humane Educational Society official said a representative used pliers to break the chains on two children aged five and six while two others aged eight and nine were imprisoned in a small closet by a padlocked chain.

Americans to be freed from Burgos prisoners at Hendaye
United States embassy officials said 11 of 19 American prisoners held in Burgos will be freed Friday at Hendaye. The men served with the Lincoln Brigade in Republican Spain as the State Department negotiated their release.
