Iowa jobless rate edges up as payrolls grow in July
Iowa's unemployment rate rose to 4.1 percent in July from 4.0 as payrolls expanded. Unemployed total climbed to 70,600 while total employed fell to 1,640,500. Education, health care, and professional services led gains. manufacturing shrank with Deere and other sectors reporting layoffs.

Westwood Plaza in Cedar Rapids Auctioned With Tenant Rent Continuity
A 168,300 square foot shopping center in southwest Cedar Rapids known as Westwood Plaza faced an August auction with a starting bid of 3 million. The center holds a 75 percent occupancy featuring Aspen Athletic Club Cold Stone Creamery Cricket Wireless Gander Mountain Little Caesars Pizza and Sprint. Nash Finch will keep paying rent through September 2020 on the vacant 65,284 square foot anchor formerly Econofoods. Intermec Technologies leased the space after the 2008 flood repairs.
