Five Tons of Mail Dumped Carriers’ Home Investigated
Postal inspectors removed the last of about five tons of undelivered mail found at and around a rural Pensacola carrier’s home. An indictment is planned as authorities describe the theft as unprecedented in magnitude. About 500000 pieces were up to three years old, mostly bulk third class with 500 to 600 first class items needing forwarding. The carrier’s identity was not released as the investigation continues.
