Indian Affairs holds talks with Meskwaki on Settlement School
A Bureau of Indian Affairs representative met with Meskwaki leaders to discuss only the Settlement School opening. The meeting did not address tribal leadership, reopening the casino, or the demand to evict Homer Bear Jr. and his supporters from the Tribal Center by August 15. Bear supporters planned vigils and potential legal action, while officials stressed continuity of services.
