Kandahar prison two worlds apart from Guantanamo
Kandahar’s municipal jail holds 60 inmates with crimes from adultery to murder. Warden Saleh Jan says funds are short, inmates provide their own meals, and aid groups struggle to cover basic care as Afghanistan’s new government grapples with poverty and refugees.
