Sigourney Wins UDAG for Rudy's Farm Plant Plans
Sigourney will get a $588000 Urban Development Action Grant to upgrade sewage facilities to support Rudy's Farm Company meat processing plant in the former Kingsberry Homes building. The project totals about $1.470 million with city and Rudy's contributions and a 30 year UDAG repayment, creating about 100 jobs.

Tama police chief Berna Van Vierah resigns amid unclear reasons
Tama Mayor Ralph Franklin received the 35 year old chief's written resignation effective October 29 after a 144 page letter. Officer Curt Miltner handed it to the city clerk as he leaves the force. Van Vierah cites lack of appreciation for her 13 years in law enforcement.
