A survey by sociologist Marvin Keller examined 209 young women, their mothers, and grandmothers. Results show rising parental disapproval across generations, with 62 of grandmothers, 91 of mothers, and over half of young women reporting disapproval or reduced parental influence on dating. Popular songs also shape views on morality and life, influencing ideas about right and wrong more than schools or churches.
