Teen gets life with minimum 50 years for school shooting
In El Cajon California 16 year old Charles Andy Williams was sentenced to 50 years to life after pleading guilty to two murders and 13 attempted murders for the March 5 2001 high school attack. He apologized tearfully while victims and supporters described the impact. The judge cited teasing and a troubled home but said such factors do not excuse violence. Williams will stay in a youth facility until 18 then likely move to a maximum security prison.
