A south Lee County jury found Monte Seager, 39, guilty on two counts of first degree murder for the October 1978 Mount Pleasant killings of Clementine Beavers and her 16 year old daughter Karol. The case hinged on Seager’s rifle, hair evidence, and defense alibi.
Pizza Hut sued after cleaning solution served to child
Kym Broer and her son Mitchell Broer sue Pizza Hut in Story County District Court over a Jan. 13 Ames incident in which a pitcher of sanitizing solution was mistaken for water and given to the 3-year-old. The boy drank the liquid, was taken to the ER, and required follow up care.
