Annual Children's Garden Award Winners Announced
The Bever park event marks the height of the summer garden program run by the Playground and Recreation Commission with about 700 participating children. Mrs. Charles Selzer led the program with aides, while judges including Mrs. R. D. Taylor selected 233 entries for prizes and ribbons. First prize in garden notebooks went to Mina Jo Wood and others, with cash prizes from the Effie M. Burton estate and merchan dise awards in other classes.
