Davis who will stay chairman led a bankruptcy driven restructuring that erased 3.3 billion in debt. McLeodUSA also disclosed Ken Burckhardt’s resignation as chief financial officer and director effective Aug. 12. Forstmann Little & Co. remains the majority owner backing the turnaround amid ongoing losses including a 268 million second quarter deficit.
Cedar Rapids Finance Commissioner Lyle Hanser aims to reassure skeptical school officials that a city school joint local option sales tax will fund projects both sides want. Districts meet tonight to discuss a 1 percent local option tax and potential split with cities and Linn County.
