The Iowa Court of Appeals ordered a new trial for Marcus Gay who was convicted of robbery and assault after a drug plot. The court found that confessions from co defendants who did not testify were improperly admitted tainting the verdict.
Iowa Court of Appeals on Wednesday upheld that Pottawattamie County man Robert Springett is a sexually violent predator likely to reoffend. The court said he may be held for treatment until authorities determine he is no longer a danger.
Ira Law, 22, testified that Deborah Arnold sent him to Helling Healthcare in Fort Madison to collect drugs obtained via forged prescriptions. Pharmacist Steve Helling, 46, faces charges of conspiring to distribute controlled substances tied to three women including Laura Newell-Law and Leslie Greenslaugh.
