Lisbon teen runner-up in Iowa State Fair Cowgirl Queen
Magdalena Dale, 17, of Lisbon, a Mount Vernon High School senior, was named one of four runners-up in the senior division of the Iowa State Fair Cowgirl Queen Contest. She earned $100 and an embroidered director's chair after competing among nearly 100 riders and interviews assessing appearance horsemanship. Aspen Erenberger, 15 Solon, placed in the junior division top 20 after local wins.

Fort Dodge woman found dead in rural Webster County
The body of 26 year old Jessica Lyne Gomez from Fort Dodge was found Saturday near Clare. Mackenzie Knigge 26 Clare Iowa and Phillip Williams 25 Lafayette Indiana face first degree murder charges and are held in Tippecanoe County Jail. Iowa investigators issued material witness warrants tied to the missing women.
