Linn-Mar weighs 145000 budget cut and five year levy
The Linn-Mar school board considers as much as 145000 in cuts to balance next year's budget as enrollment stabilizes in September. Information materials on the proposed instructional support levy will be mailed this month with September meetings set. The five year levy would raise about 980000 annually via a 3 percent property tax increase and appears on the September 11 ballot. The district keeps a five year term instead of ten. A new policy allows course credit by testing out with approval. Marion Independent will continue sharing staff for community education and relations.
