Schwieger Faces Hidden Weapon Narcotics Charges
Raymond E. Schwieger, 25, of 627 Fifth Avenue SE, was arrested Thursday night on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and violating the state narcotics act. He is held in the city jail on $4,000 total bond. Schwieger allegedly wore a handgun concealed at the Brown Derby tavern on April 9 and was found with pills in his pockets.

Youth Conservation Corps Bill Is Signed
President Nixon signed a bill creating the Youth Conservation Corps a 3.5 million three year pilot program for ages 15 to 18. The corps will develop preserve and maintain land and waters and be run by interior and agriculture departments. Departments must report to the President within one year on efficient launch.

Freddie E. Lederle Jr. 19 of 806 Fifteenth Ave SW and two boys aged 16 and 17 were charged with breaking and entering for an attempted breakin at Thrifty Food store 1201 Fourth Ave SE.
