The Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department will use it for programs and rent it for events including weddings and corporate parties. The great room seats up to 300 year round with an outdoor patio and fire pit. rental is 2700 dollars on Saturdays in summer. The project cost is about 1.2 to 1.3 million, largely funded by FEMA. The department expects steady revenue from the facility starting in October.
