Harold James Jim Jackson 78 of Mount Vernon died August 9 2009 at home with family. A longtime teacher administrator and auctioneer he was born December 17 1930 in Bagley Iowa and married Joan Lansing on June 21 1952. He directed several Cedar Falls area elementary schools and founded Jacksons International Auctioneers and Appraisers. He supported anti poverty and disability causes and served in St Patrick’s Parish Cedar Falls and St John the Baptist Church Mount Vernon. Funeral Mass is August 17 in Cedar Falls with two visitation periods and memorials to The Rachel Ann Stoner Scholarship or Birthright offices.

Betty Jean Coakley Belzer Davis, 79, of Wapello Iowa died Tuesday August 11 2009 at Unity Hospital Muscatine from natural causes. Funeral services are Friday August 14 at Stacy Lewis Funeral and Cremation Services Columbus Junction burial Ainsworth Cemetery visitation today 4 to 7 p m at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Wapello Food Pantry and Wapello United Methodist Church. Betty was born January 14 1930 in Washington Iowa daughter of Glen G and Mildred Ebner Coakley. She married C L Belzer in 1946 they divorced in 1949 she married Waldo Edwin Davis February 14 1981 in Wapello. She worked for Sylvania Electric and Leopold Furniture in Burlington and belonged to the Wapello United Methodist Church Order of the Eastern Star VFW Auxiliary and Louisa County Shriners. Survivors include two sons two grandsons 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren plus several stepchildren and a sister. She was preceded in death by her parents husband two grandchildren and a stepson.
