What Cheer Patriot Chronicle preserves old press in Iowa
In 1983 the Patriot Chronicle still used a 1897 flatbed press and a 1936 Linotype with a 104 year history and a 1890s style operation. The paper circulated 1,890 and mailed copies to all states, as reporter detail recalls. A 1903 incident near Morse involved J C Pickering, his son Ernest, and a farmer in a three hour hold up and dispute over damages.
