Kalona man deeds land to controversial Little Shell tribe
Albert C. Miller says he quitclaimed his 14th Street property to the Little Shell Pembina Band of North America and demands law enforcement enter with full identification and searches. Kalona officials say the case remains in court as a prior Davenport dispute with Larry Bell was dismissed. The tribe is not federally recognized, and past actions against its insurance marketing are cited. Miller refuses to sign a written agreement. April 1 deadline to clear the area passes with legal action pending.
