Iowa Supreme Court Halts Parts of Absentee Ballot Rules
The Iowa Supreme Court halted signature matching and some ID requirements for absentee ballots while keeping a 29 day early voting limit from 2017 in place for the November election. Chief Justice Mark Cady led the ruling with Justice Hecht not participating due to illness. The decision bars signature matching and ID number on requests but allows a provisional ballot path for mismatched signatures to be resolved after receipt.
