Duty From Fort Campbell Portends Firefighting Dream
Marcus Burns describes hot duty in a quick‑response unit at Bagram with 120 pounds gear and dusty, water‑scarce tents. He recalls one brutal dust storm, long shifts, and returning to family before pursuing firefighting as a full‑time career when his enlistment ends. He says Sept 11 strengthened his resolve to serve.
