Two Pedestrians Die in Separate Dubuque Area Crashes
AP reports two pedestrians died near Dubuque early Sunday. Penny Porter, 14, was hit on Highway 20 about a half mile west of Dubuque. investigators seek a red car with front-end damage and a broken headlight in a possible hit-and-run. Marla M. Pitz, 28, was struck on Highway 416 about 14 miles west of Dubuque by Wayne Briggs, 18, both pronounced dead at a Dubuque hospital.

Teenager Stabbed on Cedar Rapids Southwest Side
A 17 year old Cedar Rapids youth was listed in fair condition at St Luke s Hospital after a stabbing Saturday night. Police say the victim identified a man who confronted him at 1570 Second Ave SW around 6 30 p m. an argument followed and the assailant stabbed the youth in the thigh and slashed his abdomen. The victim said he did not know the attacker s name.
