Guam Is Declared Secure After Rabbit Hunt Mission
Maj. Gen. Roy S. Geiger announced Guam is secure as Marines and Third Amphibious Corps troops flushed scattered Japanese holdouts in northern Guam. Doberman pinschers aided the hunt, with about 200 Japanese killed and about 1,906 still at large in the hills near Agana. Flags fly over the island as the insular guard is reorganized for duty.
