After a rancorous debate the Cedar Rapids City Council approved zoning changes for a SuperTarget on Blairs Ferry Road NE by a 3-2 vote. Smoking rise among UI students over decade

Firestone Recall Triggers Surge of Dealer Calls in Iowa

Firestone announces a voluntary recall of 6.5 million tires for light trucks and SUVs, including P235/75R15 ATX and ATX II and Wilderness AT tires from the Decatur Illinois plant. Dealers in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City report heavy call volumes while identifying affected models and directing questions to corporate officials.
