Speaker Monday at Cedar Rapids Stamp Club

James T. DeVoss, noted stamp collector and former Army officer, will speak on The Philatelic Situation in Europe at 8 pm Monday to the Cedar Rapids Stamp Club on the second floor of the Cedar Rapids public library. DeVoss has earned the Lutfi and Tilleard medals and recently moved from Paris to Washington for duties with the joint chiefs of staff.

Gelliwogg to headline All-Iowa Fair show twist

The International Spectacular of 1958 features a grotesque rubber doll act dubbed Golliwo gg by Webster. Jim Hetzer runs the act described as a laughathon in pantomime with a suspected human element, part of a Florida trio's week in Eastern Iowa. The program runs Tuesday to Sunday with a Saturday matinee and a Lone Ranger recap on Channel 9.
