In a playful tale from 1938, Bob Cat and Fox plot to trap Uncle Wiggily using a wooden carrot painted yellow with green paper. The plan backfires when Uncle Wiggily senses the fake carrot, bites it to test, then discards it, sending the crooks fleeing. The story closes with a light aside about safety pins, invented by Walter Hunt in 1849.
