Library board clash sparks confrontation and defense
Cedar Rapids library board member Paul Pelletier interrupted a finance report with a furious whisper at Susan McDermott, accusing her in a personal dispute rooted in philosophical differences. McDermott and others witnessed the tense moment as Pelletier wore sunglasses and disputed taxpayers’ interests. Pelletier defended his stance in an email to The Gazette.
