Drownings in Johnson County Alarm Officials
Three people have died in Johnson County this year, more than the previous three years combined, per Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek who notes a rising pattern. A Coralville man, Jon Fasselius, 24, survived after plunging 30 feet from a Burlington Street Bridge into the Iowa River at 2 a.m. June 16, fighting to reach a pillar before slipping over the dam.
