Louisa plant exemption eyed in Iowa-Illinois rate case
Iowa-Illinois argues the new excess capacity penalties do not apply to its Louisa Generating Station. The 650 MW coal plant was synced May 13 and “on line” June 13, 1983, but test completion delays push full in service to mid September. The company seeks a 16.6 percent first year rate rise with 7 percent rises thereafter, totaling about 46.1 million over the plant life.
