Iowa Northern marks debut with revival of Rock Island line
The Iowa Northern Railroad launched freight service on the 38 mile Cedar Rapids to Washburn track, reviving abandoned Rock Island rails. Sen. Roger Jepsen praised private investment as shippers along the line plan initial moves with Carus Corp backing and tieups from La Salle Transport.
