Water crisis eases but drought still looms in Iowa towns
Eastern Iowa towns report improved water pictures after weekend rains yet remain wary. Federal drought relief funds have approved loans and grants totaling over 10 million dollars for towns like Waucoma Delta Hedrick and Fayette with additional applications pending. Mayors warn against overuse while planning new wells towers and mains as Des Moines and Cedar Rapids monitor river flows and conservation efforts continue statewide.
