City approves extra June July pay for flood staff
About 170 salaried Cedar Rapids employees who miss overtime will receive additional pay for hours worked in June and July after the historic flood. The City Council unanimously approved roughly 400000 in extra pay across 167 workers. Department heads may see 3000 to 5000 extra, with some long hours reaching five figures. City Manager Prosser requested staff compensation but not for himself. council member Brian Fagan supported the payments.
