Cedar Rapids Officials Seek Fair Share of State Funds
Cedar Rapids Finance Commissioner Stewart Shank said he is satisfied the city is receiving its fair share of road and liquor tax funds. He noted a 1965 census boosted official population, granting potential extra state road use and liquor tax money, but Cedar Rapids received about 970000 for road funds in 1966 versus an estimated 1100000. Authorities also questioned late street construction payments, with state officials citing machinery delays now being addressed.
