Mrs Walter S McLeod 55 Cedar Rapids reporter R S Scotty McLeod’s mother died in a local hospital Wednesday night after a lingering illness. Eight and a half hours later infant son David Scott died at the same hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage. The baby born Monday night was the couple’s first child. The mother had lived in Cedar Rapids 1919 1924 and again with her son at 1427 Center Point Road NE last year. She was born January 23 1886 in Davenport to Henry and Mary Schnitger. She married Walter S McLeod 29 years ago. he died January 1940. She leaves two other sons James and Don, two sisters, and a brother.
