House Opposes Census Sampling and Clinton Order
The House rejected statistical sampling for the 2000 census 252-176 and voted 227-201 against keeping the editing open for sampling. The chamber also killed Rep. Hefley’s bid to void Clinton's executive order prohibiting discrimination against homosexuals in federal employment.
